Permission Slip

Dear Troop 60 Parents:

 

There is much to be done to keep this Troop working efficiently.  Please let us know which of the following tasks you will volunteer to help with.  Please choose at least one task!  (Many hands make light work….)

 

 

Merit Badge Counselors -- takes a short training class offered by the District and is available to coach Scouts who need to complete their merit badges to make rank.  Make sure that names of Counselors and the Merit Badges available are posted on the website.

 

Fundraising Coordinators -- Helps to plan, schedule, and arrange fundraising events that are approved by the Troop Committee so that funds are available for transportation, outings, equipment, and camps for Scouts.  Make sure that details about each fundraiser are posted on the website.

 

 Camping Equipment Managers -- assists the Scoutmasters with readying gear for outdoor programs, maintaining the camping gear in good working order, and recommending to the Troop Committee when new items should be purchased or repaired.

 

Outings Logistics -- Assists with preparing, distributing, and collecting permissions slips for outings; collecting monies from Scouts to make any reservations and required deposits; and with arranging needed transportation for each event.  Coordinates with Equipment Managers, Scoutmasters, and Troop Committee to make itineraries and have posted on the website. Ensure that necessary Council approvals are obtained prior to outings.

 

Summer Camp Logistics – Schedules the camp, prepares announcements to Scouts, makes deposits and travel arrangements, and works with the Troop Committee to ensure that funding is available in time for fees to be paid.

 

Advancements Coordinators – In coordination with the Scoutmasters and Troop Committee helps keep track of each Scout’s advancement toward rank.  Participate in monthly advancement Board of Review.  Obtain required advancement badges, pins, and other items from the District Council in time to distribute at each Court of Honor.  Coordinate the program, invitations, and refreshments for each Court of Honor.

 

Troop Grips – can be called upon at any time to procure any items needed at the last minute (such as candles for a ceremony, another cooler, more milk or snacks, a trip to the store, etc.) or to send out critical emails to parents, or make last minute phone calls to remind families of an important date or time.
